Prelaw is FDU's legal studies program. We combine traditional liberal arts education with opportunities to gain practical, hands on experience in the legal world.
WHAT We Offer
FDU Prelaw offers courses, a minor, and roundtables and workshops with professionals, academics, and admissions officers. Our students have unique networking, classroom and field experiences.
WHO is Prelaw For?
Prelaw is for any admitted FDU student (at the Florham Campus) interested in studying law from a critical, cross-disciplinary perspective drawing on scholars and practitioners, classroom and experiential learning.

Who is Prelaw for?
Prelaw is for FDU students interested in law school, paralegal studies, criminal justice, and other legal careers. We also offer programs for anyone who recognizes that understanding the law is essential to being a good citizen, student, and professional.

What programs do we offer?

Prelaw Minor: The minor provides background, perspective, and skills for success in law school;

Legal Studies Major: As part of our Government & Law major, we offer a Legal Studies track;

Mock Trial: Each year, the team prepares a case provided by the American Mock Trial Association. Our students compete in intercollegiate competitions;

Lunch & Law: This monthly series offers students more information about law school and legal careers;

Prelaw Club: This student club organizes campus events, including Law Week and Constitution Day;

Internships: All prelaw students are expected to complete a legal internship or study abroad;

Mini Law School: Every summer we offer a mini law school for high school students. FDU students run these camps, offering leadership and teaching experience;
