Timetable for Applying to Law School

Click here for our recommended "Applying to Law School" timetable.

Before applying to law school you'll need to educate yourself about legal careers and really decide if law school makes sense for you.

If you decide to go ahead you'll need to take the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) and register with the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). The LSAC is where you will send your transcripts, your letters of recommendation, and other important information.

Your next task will be deciding where to apply. You can go to area Law School Forums to learn more about individual law schools, or take advantage of campus visits, or familiarize yourself resources like the Boston College Law School Locator index.
